Harrisburg & Hershey Water Treatment
Serving Dauphin County homes on public water and private wells
We work throughout the Capital Region, including Harrisburg, Hershey, Hummelstown, Middletown, Linglestown and the surrounding townships of Dauphin County.
Public Water or Private Well?
Where your water comes from shapes the problems you’re likely to have.
Public water is disinfected with chlorine. That keeps it safe, but many customers want the taste and smell gone, especially in the water they drink.
Private wells are untreated, so minerals, iron, sulfur or bacteria in the ground can flow straight into the house. We design systems for both.
What Your Water Is Telling You
Many water problems leave clues around the house. Here are three we see often in Dauphin County.
White Crust and Scale
Chalky buildup on faucets and showerheads means hard water. A water softener removes the minerals that cause it.
Fix: Water softener
Rust Stains or Rotten-Egg Odor
Orange stains point to iron. A sulfur smell usually means hydrogen sulfide gas, which is common in some wells. Dedicated filtration handles both.
Chlorine Taste
If your tap water tastes like a swimming pool, carbon filtration or a reverse osmosis drinking water system will take care of it.
Fix: Reverse osmosis
